Om Namah Shivaya: A Mantra for Inner Strength

For over 3500 years, mantras have been used to transform the body and the mind. The Vedic scholar Thomas Ashley- Ferrand states that "...Indian sages teach that meditations have the power to transform our human conditions, including relationships, health, career and success..." *

If you've used SPRAISE products before, then you know the "Odes to Self" mean more to us than catchy phrases on a bottle. I describe them as "mini meditations" or "mini mantras."  Because our subconscious mind believes what we tell it to, it is important that we create time in our day to tell ourselves all the positive things that we want to see in ourselves and our lives.

Om  Namah Shivaya (pronounced: om, na, ma, si, va, ya ) is a mantra of Inner Strength. Loosely translated it means "I bow to my inner self" or You Got This!😉

How amazing! In a world that teaches us to put everything and everyone before ourselves, this mantra helps us to see ourselves as sacred, important and special.  Much like our "I know my power"  Ode to Self- the Om Namah Shivaya mantra acknowledges:

  • The existence of our inner strength.
  • Our courage to bring into our lives the strength that already exists.
  • The power to use our strength to follow through with the choices of transformation we make in our lives.

This week I invite you to make time daily to say this mantra (or the "I know my power-ode to self" ) aloud or in silent meditation for 3 minutes. I'll be this doing this with you! If you notice anything about your mind, body or spirit throughout the week after saying this mantra let us know in the comments below!
